Page 1 of 4 We took Cebu Pacific Air. It’s cheaper than PAL and in our experience, always been on time. We landed in Legaspi City, capital of the province of Albay in the Bicol Region. We were greeted by the ever so regal Mt. Mayon.
In the Bicol language, "Mayon" is an abbreviation for "magayon", which means "beautiful." Indeed, the experience of being near the beautiful volcano alone was worth the trip by a hundredfold.
After an hour's drive, we reached Sorsogon City and booked at Fernando's Hotel, which is owned and managed by a nice and energetic lady name Cecilia Duran. She was there every breakfast lunch and dinner, visiting with us, asking us if everything was to our satisfaction, what else we needed, what we'd like to eat for dinner. With Cecilia, it was kind of like having a mom around who is also a tourist guide. We'd mention lobster, crabs, fish, and presto, they'd be on the table the next meal. The kitchen is off to the back of the dining room which is a two story hall that extends up to the balcony of the suites. The aroma of Orly's fixin would be hard to escape. Click here and watch him tell you.

| Oh, and Pili nut is the provincial fruit (almost like a mascot), and only found in Bicol. Bicol is also known for its flavorful spicy cuisine usually with sweet creamy coconut milk sauce. Guess who is in hog's heaven.
